Anal fistulas are generally caused by a blockage of the anal glands, which secrete into the anal canal via anal ducts. The glands are located at varying depths in the anal canal wall, some in between the layers of the internal and external sphincter. If these blockages occur, these glands may become painful and develop pus-filled abcesses called anal fistulas. You will experience pain and swelling around the anal area, you may feel tired and sick and have a fever and chills. There may be redness, soreness and itching around the anal area and there may be drainage, or pus around the area. Our treatment is related to reducing them to lesson the pain and clear the blockages.
